Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has lost his mum just two months after losing his dad.

The South Africa-based goalkeeper shared the heartbreaking news via X on Wednesday.

“Rip mom, worst year of my life already,” the goalkeeper posted with tears and heartbreak emojis on Instagram on New Year’s Day.

“A very, very crazy world indeed,” the Super Eagles goalkeeper posted, before sharing the devastating news of his mother’s passing.

Nwabali has lost his mum just two months after his father’s death.

His father had passed away in November, shortly after Nwabali played in the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against the Benin Republic in a 2025 AFCON qualification match.

Although the cause of his mother’s death was not disclosed, it came as a shock, especially after Nwabali had shared a 2024 recap video on New Year’s Day.

Sports enthusiasts have assured Stanley that their prayers are with him and his family.
