David Shikfu Parradang, a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has been killed by suspected kidnappers in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
News Band understand that Parradang was abducted in the Area 1 district of Abuja in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Mr. Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert citing sources, report that the gunmen trailed him from a bank where he had withdrawn money. After seizing the cash, they took him away and later killed him.
Parradang had a distinguished career in the Nigerian Immigration Service, serving for over 30 years in various capacities across different states, including Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the FCT.
He rose to become Comptroller-General, a position he held with dedication until his retirement.
Beyond his work in immigration, he was a respected policy expert and a graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
In recognition of his contributions to national service, he was awarded the prestigious national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
Meanwhile, security agencies have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abduction and killing.
