Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Friday described the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, as a thoroughbred professional, whose handling of issues is commendable.

This is just as he appealed to the IGP to ensure that more policemen are deployed in Ekiti State.

He spoke in Ado-Ekiti when the IGP paid him a courtesy call in his office.

In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor prayed that another professional in the mold of Arase would be appointed to the exalted position when Arase times out.

Fayose also commended the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr Etop John James, for his handling of security issues in the state.

He stated that the Ekiti CP had made his experience in community policing to bear in his handling of issues in the state.

“I appreciate the CP for his efforts and bringing his experience in community policing to bear in the state.

“Policing is not about gun alone, you can resolve some issues without lifting a finger.
