Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has declared that all confiscated Okite boxes used by native doctors in the state will undergo forensic analysis.

Soludo stated that native doctors whose Okite boxes are found free of human blood after forensic examination will regain their freedom.

However, he warned that any native doctor whose Okite contains traces of human blood will face legal consequences, Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports.

The governor made this announcement in Awka while addressing concerns about the growing influence of native doctors in criminal activities within the state.

According to Soludo, over 30 suspected native doctors and pastors are currently under investigation as part of the government’s ongoing crackdown on crime.

The state government aims to restore law and order by dismantling networks that use fetish practices to promote illegal activities.

Soludo accused native doctors of deceiving young people by offering supernatural protection for criminal enterprises, including drug trafficking, cyber fraud (Yahoo Yahoo), and kidnapping.

The governor revealed that many criminals rely on Okite rituals, believing they can evade security checks while smuggling hard drugs.

“Many Okite are now in our custody, and the only thing that can save their owners is if forensic tests show no traces of human blood,” Soludo said.

He explained that some native doctors assured their clients that Okite would make them invisible to security operatives while carrying out illegal activities.

These young criminals, believing in the supposed powers of Okite, smuggled drugs across borders, only to be caught and imprisoned worldwide.

“When that failed, they turned to cyber fraud, using charms and rituals to manipulate their victims and gain illicit wealth,” Soludo added.

However, as law enforcement agencies intensified efforts against cybercrime, many fraudsters lost their earnings and sought alternative ways to make easy money.

This, according to Soludo, led some of them to violent crimes like kidnapping, with native doctors providing them with rituals for success and protection.

The Anambra State government is determined to put an end to the use of native doctors in fueling criminal activities.

Soludo assured that the forensic examination of all Okite boxes would be thorough, and anyone found guilty of using human blood in rituals would face severe punishment.

He also urged young people to reject the influence of native doctors who encourage them to engage in fraudulent and criminal activities.

Soludo emphasized that the government’s actions are not an attack on traditional practices but a necessary step to eliminate crime in Anambra State.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe and law-abiding society where young people can succeed through honest means.

As investigations continue, security agencies are expected to prosecute any native doctor or religious leader found complicit in criminal activities.

The Anambra State government has also called on residents to report any suspicious activities involving native doctors who may be using Okite for unlawful purposes.

With this intensified crackdown, Soludo hopes to restore order and protect young people from the deceptive practices of criminal elements masquerading as native doctors.
