The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially declared Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu wanted.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that she is accused of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

EFCC made the announcement on Friday through an official statement.

The commission shared the information via its X (formerly Twitter) account.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale signed the circular.

The public was urged to provide information on her whereabouts.

Achimugu is a 51-year-old Nigerian businesswoman and socialite.

She hails from Ofu Local Government Area in Kogi State.

Authorities suspect her involvement in a complex financial scheme.

Her last known address is 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja.

“The public is hereby notified that Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu is wanted by EFCC.”

The commission released her photograph along with the statement.

She is accused of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

EFCC provided multiple contact channels for information on her location.

The commission listed nationwide offices, an email, and a hotline.

The public was encouraged to report to security agencies if necessary.

Sources disclosed that EFCC had summoned Achimugu for questioning.

She was invited over suspected involvement in a money laundering network.

The operation was linked to an elaborate investment scam.

A letter dated March 4, 2025, was delivered to her residence.

Adebayo Adeniyi, Acting Zonal Director of EFCC’s Port Harcourt office, signed the letter.

The letter instructed Achimugu to appear before investigators.

She was expected at the Port Harcourt EFCC office on March 5.

Instead of complying, Achimugu allegedly left Nigeria the following day.

She departed on March 6, avoiding the scheduled interrogation.

Following her absence, EFCC obtained a warrant for her arrest.

She was officially declared wanted after evading questioning.

This case adds to the growing list of financial crime investigations.

Nigeria’s elite have recently faced increased scrutiny from anti-corruption agencies.

EFCC has intensified its crackdown on corruption and fraud.

Authorities remain focused on financial misconduct and abuse of office.

Achimugu’s case highlights the difficulty of apprehending fleeing suspects.

Law enforcement agencies continue their search for her.

Authorities are working to ensure she faces the allegations against her.

EFCC collaborates with relevant agencies to track her movements.

Efforts are ongoing to bring her to justice.

More updates are expected as the investigation progresses.

The commission remains committed to prosecuting financial crimes in Nigeria.
