Olatubosun: Kuje Prison Comptroller in a mess as VIP inmates cry out: ‘He is extorting us!’

Some high-profile inmates at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), have cried out that the Comptroller, Mr. Ajibogun Olatubosun, is extorting them.
The inmates also lamented that Comptroller Olatubosun is “trafficking their phones”.
The remark that immediately did not resonate with Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) correspondent until a deep investigation was carried out.
During the investigation it was revealed that Olatubosun will strike the cells of some of these high-profile inmates.
He specifically targets the handsets of these inmates who are wealthy in terms of liquid cash.
Among them is one Mr. Victor Osondu, who is known for his Bureau De Change (BDC) business.
Cash and phones racketeering
Olatubosun’s latest raiding occurred at about 8:30 PM on Wednesday, 26th March 2025.
DDM learnt that he went to the segregation cell, which hosts high-profile inmates, often referred to as VIPs.
This raid reportedly happened roughly ten days after an earlier raid, which took place on 15th March 2025.
Olatubosun, it was gathered, raided the VIPs and confiscated their cash and phones.
The cash and phones were, however, later returned at a price, ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦700,000 each.
DDM learnt that some of the VIP inmates are very bitter about the “gentleman agreement” they reportedly had with the FCT Prison Command Comptroller.
They lament that he has continued to breach the said “agreement” has kept harassing them.
Incidentally, Olatubosun has a mind of his own as he did not stop at the segregation cell.
Raiding of prison hospital by Olatubosun
He continued his exploits at the hospital in the yard to ransack other VIPs there.
Our source further learnt how Olatubosun and his Personal Assistant, Mr. Peter Ogundele, extorted an inmate.
The concerned inmate had voluntarily chosen to upgrade the football field to some standard.
It was revealed that he was extorted under the pretense that the ‘Comptroller-General NCoS at the National Headquarters must be settled financially’.
Our source reliably informed us that an investigation team has been coming from the National Headquarters for the past two weeks.
The source said on condition of anonymity:
“Except Mr. President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the one backing this high-level corruption, those involved should not escape from these crimes.
“This Mr. Ajibogun Olatubosun is worse than Mr. Kelvin, the immediate suspended officer in charge.
“He comes to us unannounced whenever he is broke,” he lamented.
Another aspect of the mega corruption
DDM also stumbled on another aspect of the mega corruption going on in Kuje.
It is the report case of painful extortion of inmates to the tune of millions of Naira, with promises to transfer them to states where they will be granted amnesty.
One of them told DDM: “It’s painful that Ogundele Peter and Mr. Ajibogun Olatubosun will eat my cash like that.
“I will expose them!” he vowed.
DDM was informed that the CG-NCoS sent his team to the Kuje facility today to uncover the facts of the matter after many hues and cries.
Inmates, however, told DDM that Olatubosun was heard bragging that nothing would come out of this investigation as he is “well covered”.
He was reportedly heard also saying that his promotion to Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) is expected in a few days.
With this, he would be fit to contest for the Comptroller-General (ACG) post, having just completed his oral interview this week.
Diaspora Digital Media tried to elicit the response of the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The PRO, Mr. Rotimi Oladokun, who holds the rank of Chief Superintendent, unfortunately, could not be reached.
All the phone numbers linked to his office, 07087086005, 09060004598 and 08075050006 were either “switched off” or “out of reach”.
This is not surprising as the NCoS website has been abandoned to deteriorate and no longer accessible.
