Thousands of Galatasaray fans gathered at Istanbul Airport to welcome Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who arrived in Turkey yesterday to complete his loan move from Napoli.

Osimhen, 25, was greeted with cheers, chants, and banners as he emerged from the airport terminal, flanked by Galatasaray officials and his agent. The striker, who has been frozen out of the Napoli squad since the transfer window closed, beamed with joy as he waved to the sea of fans.

“I’m thrilled to be here,” Osimhen told reporters. “The reception has been amazing. I can’t wait to get started and help the team achieve success.”

Galatasaray president, Dursun Özbek, welcomed Osimhen, saying, “We’re delighted to have Victor on board. He’s a world-class player who will strengthen our attack and help us compete in the Europa League.”

Osimhen’s loan deal is worth €8.8 million, with no option to buy. He’s expected to sign a one-year contract and will wear the number 9 jersey.

The Nigerian international underwent medical tests yesterday and will be registered in Galatasaray’s Europa League squad today.

Galatasaray fans are ecstatic about Osimhen’s arrival, hoping he’ll bring a new level of energy and goal-scoring prowess to the team.

“Osimhen is a fantastic signing,” said fan, Emre Kaya. “He’ll score plenty of goals and help us win trophies.”

Osimhen’s first training session with Galatasaray is scheduled for today, and he’s expected to make his debut against Trabzonspor next weekend.
