Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has arrived in Nigeria to discuss health challenges, innovations, and efforts to boost nutrition in Africa.

Gates will meet with stakeholders, including experts in primary healthcare, agriculture, and nutrition, as well as national and local leaders, partners, and innovators.

During his visit, the Microsoft founder will participate in a pan-African virtual dialogue focused on addressing malnutrition through integrated health, agriculture, and financing solutions.

He will be joined by musician, educator, and humanitarian Jon Batiste.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has committed over $7 billion to support African countries and institutions working to develop innovative approaches to confront hunger, disease, gender inequality, and poverty.

Gates’ visit is part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to Africa’s development, with a focus on supporting African partners whose bold ideas and creative approaches have the potential to save lives, improve health, and help families across the continent.

The foundation has supported partnerships with African regional institutions, national governments, and local communities in 49 African countries since its inception in 2000.
