Goddy-Mbakwe: Unizik releases official statement expelling unruly female student
Result shows student failed course examination

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, has, on February 14, 2025, issued an official statement confirming the expulsion of an unruly female student, Miss Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a 300-level student in the Department of History and International Studies, Reg. No. 2022044114, from the university.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor issued the statement via an internal memorandum on Friday.
The press release, with reference number: NAU/DIPR/72, dated February 14, 2025, has “Update On The Incident Involving Dr. Chukwudi Okoye And Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious” as its title.
The genesis of the Goddy-Mbakwe / Michael Okoye imbroglio
Recall that Diaspora digital media (DDM) reported that Unizik witnessed a heated altercation on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, involving the student and a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye.
The incident gained widespread attention online after the TikToking student lashed out at the lecturer.
Eyewitnesses narrated the incident to this medium that the student was filming near a campus building entrance.
It was at this point that Dr. Okoye tapped her on the shoulder and walked past.
Bystanders observed that the student was obstructing the passage with her media stunts when the lecturer was passing by.
Okoye notified her with a brief rap on her shoulder, but Goddy-Mbakwe immediately expressed her disgust at the lecturer.
She then attacked the dumbfounded lecturer, biting him and eventually tearing his clothes in the ensuing fracas.

Unizik management responds in kind
Reacting to the Goddy-Mbakwe / Michael Okoye imbroglio, the Unizik management, in the internal memorandum signed by the Ag. Head. Information & Public Relations, Njelita Louis O., deemed her action as “a gross misconduct”.
Njelita, while announcing her “immediate expulsion” (see the attached document below), stated:
“The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, wishes to update the public on the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings regarding the recent incident involving Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies.
“The actors involved were given a fair hearing by the Students Disciplinary Committee.
“After a thorough review by the Committee (SDC), the act committed by Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a 300-level student in the Department of History and International Studies, [is] a gross misconduct and a violation of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Students Disciplinary Regulations, particularly Regulation 4 (SDR).
“Based on the Committee’s findings and recommendations, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, on behalf of the University Senate, has approved the immediate expulsion of Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Earlier recommendations against Goddy-Mbakwe
Meanwhile, in an earlier development against Goddy-Mbakwe, file number: NAU/REG/95B/VOL.vii/031, the Student Disciplinary Committee has recommended to the Acting Vice-Chancellor to expel the poorly-behaved student.
Confirming this in a statement, signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, approved the Committee’s recommendation to expel her from the university.
The statement entitled “Expulsion From Nnamdi Azikiwe University“, dated 13th February, 2025:
“The A-g Vice-Chancellor has received the report from the Student Disciplinary Committee on the case of your assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theater and Film Studies which was found to be a gross misconduct and violation of the Students Disciplinary Regulations particularly Regulation 4 (SDR).
“Consequently, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor has on behalf of the University Senate, approved the Committee’s recommendation…
“You are hereby expelled from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
“The expulsion takes immediate effect.
“You are expected to vacate the University premises immediately and return any University property in your possession.”
Goddy-Mbakwe’s record
In the meantime, one of the records seen by DDM correspondent shows that Goddy-Mbakwe is not an exemplary student.
A 2022 session examination result shows that she failed woefully with an “F”, scoring a paltry 38 marks out of a hundred.
An observer lamented that it is little wonder that it is such a low-performing student will attack a lecturer in a citadel of learning.
The last but not the least
As the euphoria of the Goddy-Mbakwe saga lingers, the outcome of the matter may also linger.
DDM reliably learnt that the spouse of the assaulted lecturer, who is reportedly a judge, won’t let the matter slip.
Sources say she may be considering a legal action against the “unruly” brat, who assaulted her husband.
