Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has finally addressed the rumors suggesting his alleged plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Diaspora digital media DDM gathered that these rumors, which have sparked intense discussions across political circles, were swiftly debunked by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon.

Ahon categorically dismissed the claims, labeling them as “unfounded and fabricated” by opposition factions within the state.

He pointed out that these political opponents are likely feeling cornered by Oborevwori’s increasing influence and the widespread support he has garnered since assuming office.

The spokesperson further suggested that the opposition’s actions stem from a sense of insecurity regarding the Governor’s growing popularity, especially as he continues to work on uniting various political factions and building strong cross-party relationships.

In a clear and direct statement, Ahon emphasized that Governor Oborevwori has no intentions of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party under whose banner he was elected into office.

He highlighted that the Governor’s position within the PDP remains unshaken, and his political alliances within the party are solid and supportive.

According to Ahon, the Governor’s focus remains firmly on advancing his MORE Agenda, a developmental plan that seeks to enhance the lives of Deltans in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

This agenda was central to his campaign and continues to be his priority as he carries out his duties.

The spokesperson urged the people of Delta State to disregard the rumors and instead focus on the Governor’s achievements and promises, which are being fulfilled through his actions.

Ahon referred to the circulating rumors as the work of mischief-makers and individuals with ulterior motives, who aim to distract the public and cause unnecessary political instability.

The Chief Press Secretary also pointed out that such distractions, often in the form of fabricated stories, are not new in Nigerian politics but have become more prevalent as political opponents look for ways to weaken the Governor’s growing influence.

Despite the efforts by the opposition to stir controversy, Governor Oborevwori’s administration continues to prioritize the welfare of the people.

His team remains steadfast in the pursuit of the state’s development.

With a clear focus on his leadership role, Oborevwori has shown resilience against these divisive tactics.
