Gunmen Kill Four In Nasarawa Supermarket, CP Orders Probe

The attack on a supermarket in One Man Village, near Mararaba, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state, has prompted the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigative Department in Lafia to launch an investigation, per the directive of Umar Nadada, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State.

Four people were reportedly slain by an armed group that assaulted the shop.

The event was said to have occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8:45 p.m.

One of the dead people had an identity card from the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to a voice heard in the video that our journalist was able to collect right after the occurrence.

Upon being contacted, Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson for the Nasarawa police, confirmed the incident and stated that four people had died in it. He also added that the CP had instructed the Deputy Commissioner overseeing the SCID to look into the matter. Nansel stated, “I wish to confirm that on January 2, 2024. Some hoodlums numbering four attacked the Wisdom supermarket at Adehi, Karu local government shooting sporadically. The armed men opened fire on customers and four people were recovered and taken to the hospital where their deaths were confirmed by the doctors. Their corpses have been deposited at Maraba Medical Center. The Commissioner of Police has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigative Department in Lafia to go to the scene and conduct a thorough investigation.
