Igbodike hails Tinubu’s govt over developmental milestones in S’east

Igbodike Movement has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s administration over what it described as several developmental milestones it has achieved in the Southeast region.

In a statement issued by Dr. Peter Nwankwo, the group’s National Coordinator, it said President Tinubu has done well for primarily focusing on infrastructural renewal, legislative institutionalization, and the ongoing push for regional economic development.

“Igbodike Movement observed that some of his key achievements include South East Development Commission (SEDC):

“Tinubu’s administration operationalized the SEDC by appointing and inaugurating its pioneer board.

“This commission serves as a dedicated federal intervention agency to rebuild, rehabilitate, and construct critical infrastructure across the five states of the Southeast.

“Infrastructure and Road Rehabilitation:
The federal government designated several critical road projects across the zone to improve connectivity and economic integration.

“Some of the roads includes the reconstruction and dualization of major corridors like the Onueke-Afikpo highway, rehabilitation of Enugu- Onitsha expressway, Enugu – Port Harcourt express way, the Trans-Sahara superhighway passing through the region, and bridge constructions linking Ebonyi with Cross River State,” the statement partly reads.

Speaking further in the statement, Igbodike Movement noted that Tinubu’s administration has intervened in upgrading the aviation sector, which has improved air travels.

“The current administration has driven targeted infrastructure rehabilitation at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, alongside modernization of other regional airstrips to improve air travel, business connectivity, and trade.Economic.

“On southeast social Investments,
Citizens in the southeast have been beneficiaries of the administration’s broader national programs, including the Presidential Loan and Grant Scheme for micro-enterprises, the student loan programme via NELFUND.

“While these strides are actively changing the infrastructural landscape of the region, the administration continues to work closely with Southeast leaders and the Ministry of Works to resolve the backlog of legacy infrastructure and gully erosion issues in the Southeast”, the statement added.
