The Israeli military has confirmed the killing of Asghar Bagheri, a senior commander in the Quds Force, an elite unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Bagheri was responsible for coordinating multiple attacks targeting Israeli interests both within the region and internationally.
According to the IDF, the commander played a key role in operations along the Syrian-Israel border, where he allegedly directed attacks against Israeli soldiers.
The military also accused him of involvement in efforts to transfer weapons from Iran into Israel, with the aim of targeting civilians.
Bagheri’s reported death adds to a growing list of senior Iranian security officials killed amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, further escalating tensions in the region.
Israeli authorities described him as a high-ranking operative who held several strategic positions within the Quds Force and was actively involved in planning and executing military operations.
