Registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) kicks off on January 31.
This announcement came from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in their bulletin released on Monday.
They established this date during a roundtable meeting on January 24 with financial institutions and other key players.
The virtual meeting was led by Mufutau Bello, JAMB’s director of finance and accounts.
Bello indicated that the UTME registration would wrap up on March 5 at all JAMB-accredited computer-based testing (CBT) centers nationwide.
He also mentioned additional crucial dates; for instance, expressions of interest for the 2025 mock UTME will close on February 23, with actual registration ending on March 8.
Furthermore, the director announced that the mock UTME is scheduled for April 5.
The main UTME is set to take place from April 25 to May 5. For those interested in Direct Entry, the sale of application documents will start on March 10 and finish by April 7.
Bello emphasized that this registration will only occur at JAMB’s professional registration centers (PRCs).
Bello shared that JAMB plans to introduce a trial-testing mock examination for underage candidates beginning in 2025.
He noted that this is essential since any candidate not turning 16 by September 30, 2025, cannot sit for the UTME.
However, they can still participate in the mock UTME for valuable experience before they reach the required age.
Candidates should specify the type of e-PIN they need when purchasing their UTME application documents.
This is crucial because once you complete the purchase, you cannot receive any refunds.
Bello explained that there will be four e-PIN categories available based on individual candidates’ interests and financial capabilities.
The application categories encompass several options: the “Mock Only Trial Testing” for underage candidates costs N3,500.
The price of the Direct Entry application is N5,700.
Additionally, the UTME only, without mock-UTME, is available for N7,200.
Conversely, the UTME with mock-UTME costs N8,700.
He thoroughly broke down the application costs. These include the UTME/DE JAMB fee of N3,500 as well as a reading text fee of N1,000.
Furthermore, the CBT center registration service charge is N700, while the CBT center UTME service charge is N1,500. Lastly, the CBT mock service charge is also N1,500.
Moreover, additional expenses arise from bank charges of N500 and a CBT mock-UTME center charge of N1,500.
