Lagos Gov’t announces new physiotherapy department at general hospital, Ijede

Ijede, Lagos – April 24, 2025 – The Lagos State Government has taken a major step to improve healthcare services by establishing a new physiotherapy department at General Hospital, Ijede.

Notably, the Medical Director and CEO, Dr. Olufemi Aletan, thanked His Royal Majesty Oba Adeoriyomi Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, for laying the foundation stone during a ceremony yesterday.

This milestone coincides with the Oba’s 15th anniversary on the throne, symbolizing progress in community healthcare.

Furthermore, the project addresses the rising demand for physiotherapy services, which has strained the existing facility.

Dr. Aletan emphasized that the new department will resolve overcrowding and enhance patient care.

Constructing this facility will modernize the hospital and elevate its standards,” he stated.

The expansion aims to accommodate more patients, ensuring efficient and comfortable treatment.

Moreover, the event drew prominent attendees, including the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, his chiefs, Egbin Power PLC’s CEO, Mr. Mokhtar Bounoir, and the chief Imam of Egbin Kingdom.
