Liverpool to make Arnold highest paid Premier League player

Published

on

Respected football journalist, Graeme Bailey has exclusively announced that Liverpool’s vice captain and right fullback, Trent Alexander Arnold, is set to be offered a new contract which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.

The 26 year old baller’s contract expires in the summer.

Bailey’s report is however contrary to recent reports suggesting he won’t sign a new deal at Anfield.

The development has sparked concerns among Liverpool fans, fearing his potential move to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid has allegedly outlined a four-year contract for Alexander-Arnold, placing him on the second rung of their salary scale, earning around $10.6 million per season.

*Potential Pay Cut

Interestingly, Real’s reported offer would mean Alexander-Arnold taking a pay cut from his current Liverpool deal, where he earns approximately $11.9 million annually.

Jude Bellingham, Alexander-Arnold’s friend and Real Madrid midfielder, is said to be convincing him to join the Spanish giants.

*Transfer Speculation

With Alexander-Arnold’s contract expiring soon, Liverpool faces pressure to secure his future or risk losing him on a free transfer.

Real Madrid’s interest and the potential for a January pre-contract agreement have fueled transfer speculation.

Diaspora Digital Media is yet to receive any confirmation from the player or club.
