A domestic dispute in Lagos turned tragic when a 43-year-old man, Pere Faruk, allegedly poured acid on his girlfriend, Kemi Bashiru, and later died by suicide.
The incident occurred on June 30, 2025, at No. 8 Messy Street, Lagos Island.
Faruk poured acid on Bashiru during a domestic altercation, causing severe burns.
Bashiru was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment.
Faruk was found unresponsive in his room with a bottle of Sniper insecticide nearby, suggesting he took his own life.
Police investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Faruk’s body was taken to a public mortuary for autopsy.
