Serie A club Napoli has lost a staggering 2 million followers on Instagram barely 24 hours of Victor Osimhen’s departure from the club.

The Nigerian striker, who joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan, was a fan favorite at Napoli, and his exit has clearly left a sour taste in the mouths of the club’s supporters.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray has seen a significant surge in their social media following, gaining over 2 million new followers in less than 24 hours.

Osimhen’s departure from Napoli was marked by controversy, with the club also deleting all his pictures from their social media handle.

This move has been seen by many as a sign of disrespect towards the player, who was instrumental in Napoli’s success during his tenure.

The 25-year-old striker topped the scoring chats for Napoli, helping the club finish third in Serie A last season, and first on the log the season before last.

His departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and the club’s supporters are clearly unhappy with the way he was treated.

Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray has been seen as a major coup for the Turkish club, and his popularity is expected to continue to soar in his new surroundings.

As for Napoli, the club will be hoping to bounce back from the loss of their star striker and find a way to regain the trust of their disillusioned supporters.

Diaspora Digital Media had earlier reported that the striker was given a rapturous welcome in Turkey by fans as he arrived in the early hours of Tuesday.
