The Falconets had shown promise in the group stage, notching wins against the Korea Republic and Venezuela, but a loss to Germany in their opening match ultimately proved costly.
The team’s elimination marks the end of their World Cup journey, leaving fans and supporters disappointed but proud of their efforts.
Coach Christopher Danjuma praised his team’s resilience, saying, “We gave it our all, but sometimes it’s just not enough. I’m proud of the girls for their hard work and dedication.” The Falconets will now return to Nigeria, already looking forward to their next challenge.

Undeterred, the Nigerian team bounced back with a convincing 3-1 win over Venezuela, showcasing their attacking prowess and flair. Goals from Mercy Idoko, Flourish Sabastine, and Olushola Shobowale secured the win, propelling the Falconets into the knockout stage.
