NNPC Records N535bn Profit in June

ABUJA, Nigeria — NNPC Limited has announced a profit after tax of ₦535 billion for June 2026, reflecting a 15.8 percent increase compared to the ₦462 billion recorded in May.

The national oil company disclosed the figure in its latest monthly operational and financial report, describing the performance as evidence of continued operational efficiency and stronger financial results. The company said the improved earnings were driven by increased production, enhanced cost management and sustained reforms aimed at improving profitability.

According to NNPC Limited, the June performance reinforces its commitment to operating as a commercially driven energy company while delivering value to shareholders and supporting Nigeria’s economy. The company noted that the higher profit also reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, improve productivity and maximise returns from its operations.

NNPC said it continued to make significant contributions to the Federation Account through taxes, royalties and other statutory payments, while maintaining investments in critical oil and gas infrastructure. The company added that it remains focused on increasing crude oil production, improving refinery operations and expanding gas development projects to boost energy security.

The report also highlighted continued progress in the rehabilitation of refineries, improved collaboration with industry stakeholders and sustained measures to curb crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, which have affected production levels in the past.

Industry analysts said the increase in profitability demonstrates the positive impact of ongoing reforms in the oil and gas sector. They noted that consistent financial performance by NNPC could strengthen investor confidence and support broader efforts to attract investment into Nigeria’s energy industry.

NNPC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining operational excellence, improving efficiency and creating long-term value for Nigerians.
