Obaze Endorses ADC’s John Nwosu, Hosts Candidate In Ogbaru

Former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Chief Oseloka H. Obaze (Owelle), and a recognised political stakeholder in Anambra State, yesterday played host to the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, at Camp AC, his country home in Ochuche, Umuodu in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

During the visit, Chief Obaze openly declared his support for Nwosu’s candidacy ahead of the November 8, 2025, election.

The meeting was attended by top ADC leaders, members of the candidate’s campaign team, and political stakeholders in Ogbaru.

Stakeholders described it as a major boost for the ADC as the election campaign enters its final phase.

Although not currently affiliated with any political party, Chief Obaze’s public endorsement of Mr. Nwosu was hailed by political observers as an act of rare courage and statesmanship.

Speaking after the visit, Nwosu expressed deep appreciation to Obaze for what he described as an unambiguous show of friendship and loyalty.

He said that despite not being a member of ADC or any other political party presently, Obaze’s friendship, unalloyed support, and camaraderie are highly valued.

He described the endorsement as a high mark of courage, loyalty, frankness, and true friendship, adding that he remains deeply indebted to him.

Nwosu commended Obaze’s unwavering commitment to the Ogbaru community, noting that the warm reception from residents reflected the respect and admiration they hold for him.

He also used the occasion to urge the Anambra elite and their followers to put the state’s interest above personal or partisan considerations as the polls approach.

He said the people must rise above transactional politics that undermines the sustainable development of Anambra State and encouraged voters to support the ADC as the credible alternative.

Political analysts believe that Obaze’s endorsement may further strengthen ADC’s chances in Ogbaru and adjoining local government areas, as the momentum continues to build around Nwosu’s campaign.

On his part, Obaze, while speaking to his guests, said that he knew the other governorship contenders well, either as friends or acquaintances.

He wished them well.

However, he said he was endorsing Nwosu since he placed a higher priority on the interests and needs of Anambra State in general and the Ogbaru community in particular.

He Noted that the succeeding governments had been unkind to Ogbaru community.

He said what Anambra needed, was a competent leader who had the “capacity, competence, compassion, empathy, the fear of God and above all, respect for the rule of law.”

Obaze also announced his endorsement of John Chuma Nwosu of ADC on his X handle, which he personally signed.

Pela further highlighted that meaningful reform cannot be outsourced and must come from active citizen engagement, urging Nigerians to demand accountability rather than wait for others to initiate change.

He described these principles as the pillars necessary to construct a “truly new Nigeria,” emphasizing that collective action, ethical leadership, and societal commitment are indispensable.

Pela also commended the efforts of Isiodu Kosieme Georges and the symposium’s organizing team for creating a platform that fostered dialogue on governance, economic reform, and citizen participation.

(DDM) – PDP National Chairman Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has affirmed that the party’s inaugural National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will take place tomorrow at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Turaki made the declaration following the submission of a petition at the Police Headquarters in Garki, targeting expelled officials of the party, including National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu.

Our correspondent notes that the petition accused Anyanwu and other party members of sabotaging PDP processes and undermining the party’s leadership and organizational cohesion.

Despite the petition, Turaki insisted that no obstacle would prevent the executive meeting from proceeding, emphasizing that the session is a key step in implementing the party’s new leadership direction.

(DDM) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called an emergency stakeholders meeting to review outcomes from its recently concluded national convention.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the meeting is convened by the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) led by Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, signaling the party’s commitment to strategic planning following the convention.

Our correspondent notes that the invitation extends to serving and former governors, Board of Trustees (BoT) members, National Assembly legislators, state chairmen, and other ex-officio members.

According to the official notice signed by National Publicity Secretary Hon. Ini Ememobong Essien, the meeting is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, November 18, starting at 8:00 a.m.
