Ondo Elections: IGP don deploy DIG Alabi make e lead security work e go enforce movement restriction

Di Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, don show beta security plan for di upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections wey go happen for Saturday, November 16, 2024, to make sure say di process go dey peaceful and transparent.

For statement wey dem release on Thursday by di Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, di IGP announce say dem don deploy DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi as di coordinating officer for election security, wey AIG Bennett Igwe and CP Tunji Disu go support.

Dem go dey oversee how dem go carry out security measures wey go help maintain order for di election period.

To make security beta, di IGP don order say make no vehicle move from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Election Day.

Dem go allow essential services like ambulance, media pipo, fire service, and accredited election officials to move.

Di IGP don also ban security aides and escorts from following VIPs go polling stations or collation centers to reduce wahala.

Unauthorized security pipo and use of sirens by vehicles wey no get permission dey banned during di election.

“And credible during di upcoming Ondo off-season Gubernatorial elections wey go happen for Saturday, November 16, 2024.”

“To prepare for di elections, di IGP don deploy DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi as di coordinating DIG for di Elections, wey go oversee di implementation of di Police security strategies”

“To maintain law and order throughout di electoral period, while AIG Bennett Igweh, mni, and CP Tunji Disu dey deployed as AIG and CP Elections respectively.”

As part of di security framework, dem go restrict all motor movement for road, waterway, and oda means of transport from 6am to 6pm for Election Day.

Except for pipo wey dey provide essential services, like ambulance, media officials, fire service, and oda accredited media.
