The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects after intercepting a truck allegedly transporting sacks of military camouflage uniforms and cartons of suspected hard drugs from Lagos to the South-East.
The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja on recent operations carried out by the police across the state.

According to the police chief, operatives of the State Tactical Squad acted on intelligence reports and intercepted the truck on Saturday night along the Lekki-Epe corridor while the consignment was being moved out of Lagos.
Fatai said a search of the vehicle uncovered several sacks filled with military camouflage uniforms as well as cartons containing various suspected illicit drugs.
“We received credible intelligence and immediately mobilised our operatives.
The truck conveying the items was intercepted while leaving Lagos, and the individuals involved were arrested,” he said.
The commissioner confirmed that four suspects are currently in custody and assisting investigators, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the network behind the shipment.
Preliminary findings, according to the police, indicate that the consignment was being transported to a destination in South-East, although investigators are yet to determine its exact destination or intended use.
“Information available to us suggests the items were being taken to the eastern part of the country.
Investigations are still ongoing to uncover those responsible and establish the purpose of the shipment,” Fatai added.
The police said further details would be made public as investigations progress.
