Police investigate allegation of extortion, assault on Miss Jennifer

The Imo Police Command under CP Aboki Danjuma has declared wanted officers who extorted Miss Jennifer Kingsley a hundred and fifty thousand naira #150,000.00 on February 20, 2025 while she was taking her baby to school.
Miss Jennifer Kingsley and her husband were beaten up and molested by the yet to be identified police officers on patrol in Amakohia Owerri and that during the intimidation, a whopping sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (#150,000) was extorted from them.
Police said they have started an investigation over the matter and want useful information from members of the public so as to bring the offenders to book.
Henry Okoye, the Imo state Police command’s spokesman stated this in a Press release of 24th February 2025.
The release states; “The Imo State Police Command is aware of the viral TikTok video posted by Miss Jennifer Kingsley, in which she alleges that on February 20, 2025, while she was on her way to take her baby to school, she and the father of her child were assaulted by yet to be identified police officers on patrol in Amakohia, Owerri, and that during the incident, a sum of 150,000 Naira was extorted from her.
In response to the complaint, the victim has been contacted and has formally reported the incident to the Command.
Consequently, an investigation is now underway to identify those responsible for possible arrest and appropriate actions.
The public will be updated on the progress of our investigation as it unfolds.
The Command is also aware of the public discussions surrounding this complaint, including comments from TikTok blogger @missnatural01.
Under the leadership of CP Aboki Danjuma, the Imo State Police Command remains dedicated to upholding professionalism and accountability while ensuring public safety.
Anyone with useful information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact the Command’s Public Relations Department.
Furthermore, the Command urges the public to report any incidents of police misconduct, harassment, or extortion to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) or the IGP XSquad Unit.
