Russia FIFA 2018 World Cup: France Defeats Australia

France defeated Australia with 2-1 margin when Les Bleus took on Australia on Saturday at the Russia FIFA 2018 World Cup going on in Russia.

The first half of the match ended goalless as both sides could not find the back of the net while the 45 minutes lasted.

Antoine Griezmann later put France ahead in the 58 minute through penalty but Mile Jedinak struck back with another penalty for Australia four minutes later.

Paul Pogba would later hand the Aussies a late one in the 81st minute

All he needed was get a toe on the ball and loops of Mat Ryan and off the underside of the bar.

It seemed mighty controversial, but a glance at the referee’s goal-line technology watch shows he got it right.

Meanwhile, Jedinak continued a solid Australian tradition at the World Cup. Three penalties given, three penalties scored.

With his reputation from the spot, today’s was not going to be different.

He netted one in the 3-2 classic against the Netherlands at 2014, as well as two against Honduras in their intercontinental play-off.
