Simon Ekpa’s Chief of Staff issues threats against Nigeria
Dr. Ngozi Orabueze, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Biafra Republic (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa has issued threats to the Nigerian government following the arrest of Ekpa by Finish authorities on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Hours after Ekpa’s reported apprehension flooded various social media platforms, Dr. Orabueze took to her X page (formerly Twitter) to speak on the development.
Sensing the Nigerian government’s satisfaction with Ekpa’s arrest and suspecting their involvement, she stated that his arrest would not hinder the Biafra restoration.
She emphasized that Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, had already established a robust structure for the restoration that even the Nigerian government could not dismantle.
“I want to tell everyone listening here today that the power that Nigeria government has-
“Where it stops is where this government begins.
“I need them to know that our Excellency, Simon Ekpa has already led a full structure for the restoration of Biafra.
“No body on Earth will stop that.
“We are both at home and we are abroad.
“Biafra will be restored from Diaspora.
“Our leader Nnamdi Kanu has laid the structure by introducing his excellency, Simon Ekpa to be in charge of this ship”, Dr. Orabueze said.
“We will burn Nigeria down”
Dr. Orabueze recalled Kanu’s past statement on Radio Biafra, where he declared that if Biafra did not come to fruition, he would reduce Nigeria to ashes.
She reiterated this sentiment, vowing to destroy Nigeria and any country that opposed the restoration of Biafra.
According to her: “Our leader, Nnamdi Kanu has said:
‘Instead of Biafra not to come, Nigeria will be burnt to ashes.
“And I promise you today.
“Instead of Biafra not to come, we will burn Nigeria down.
“Any country, both international and homeland that tries to temper, intervene, that country will get the wrath of Biafra”.
Commenting on Ekpa’s arrest, the COS explained that the Finnish local authorities had merely invited him to explain his conflict with Nigeria.
She noted that Ekpa had long awaited such an opportunity.
“Our Prime Minister has been invited by the Finnish local authorities to volunteer information on what is going on.
“And our PM has always said he is looking for this opportunity.
“For the government to officially know that Biafrans cannot continue to stay in a country where President Tinubu will integrate and rehabilitate terrorists into the Nigerian police, military and Air Force and continue to kill our people”, the Chief of Staff stated.
Recall that on Thursday, the Central Criminal Police in Finland announced the arrest of five individuals suspected of terrorist activities.
The announcement stated that the primary suspect, Ekpa, was detained for public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent.
The other four were arrested for “financing a terrorist crime.”
Also, it proceeded to say that he had promoted violence and crimes in Southeastern Nigeria through his social media channels.
Further, it claimed that his actions led to violence against civilians, authorities, and other crimes in the region.
Ekpa is the reason Monday Sit-at-Home is still ongoing
Before his arrest, Ekpa had faced accusations of terrorism committed by his militants otherwise called Biafra Liberation Army.
Since the rearrest of the IPOB leader in mid 2021, Ekpa has been steering the wheels of the group’s leadership.
Despite being sacked by IPOB’s Director of States, the mainstream leadership of the separatist group, Ekpa has been styling himself as the DeFacto leader.
This means that he deems himself the real power behind the throne.
To back this up, when two inconsistent orders were issued by the DOS and Ekpa, the latter’s command would prevail.
By all accounts, Ekpa is the reason why the Monday sit at home is still ongoing in Southeastern Nigeria.
The Sit-at-Home has been active since 2021.
It has contributed to the loss of millions of naira in revenue as well as lives and property,
IPOB announced it through its publicity secretary, Emma Powerful as a nonviolent protest against the rendition of its leader.
However, after the first observance of the boycott, IPOB deemed it counterproductive.
Then, it called it off following its controversial enforcement which led to killings and destruction of property.
However, Ekpa countermanded the order, declaring that the Sit-at-Home still persisted.
On several broadcasts he made on social media, he warned that the Sit-at-Home would not cease until the IPOB leader was freed.
South East governments have used several means to halt the sit at home.
One tactic was economic sanctions against citizens who did not report to work on Mondays in order
Unfortunately, the illegal boycott has defied all these measures.
Residents still reside in their various homes on Mondays for fear of the so-called unknown gunmen.
