The Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation has welcomed a delegation of volunteers from the VOOM Foundation, comprising participants from the United States, Canada, and Rwanda, at the Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital in Orifite, Anambra State.
The visiting team includes both returning and first-time volunteers participating in the foundation’s ongoing humanitarian and medical outreach mission.
According to the foundation, several members of the delegation are returning for their seventh mission, having previously participated in six earlier outreach programmes organized in partnership with the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation. Others are taking part for the first time, bringing fresh enthusiasm and a shared commitment to improving lives through healthcare and community service.
In total, the delegation consists of 31 pediatric non-medical volunteers alongside a team of highly experienced healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists.
The foundation described the arrival of the volunteers as a remarkable moment filled with emotion, inspiration, and renewed hope for patients and families expected to benefit from the mission.
The medical outreach is expected to further strengthen the foundation’s efforts in providing quality healthcare services and humanitarian support to communities in Anambra State and beyond.
Officials of the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation expressed optimism about the impact of the mission and the opportunities ahead as the collaboration continues to grow.
