Popular UK-based Nigerian pastor and leader of SPAC Nation, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has disclosed that he spends no less than £300,000 daily on food and other financial commitments.
Adegboyega made the disclosure during a livestream with streamer Davrel, who asked him about his average daily and monthly expenses.
According to the pastor, about £14,000 is spent on food every day, while another £5,000 goes towards supporting African countries.
“To be honest, nothing less than £300,000. We spend £14,000 daily on food, and I have an obligation to give African countries £5,000 every day,” he said.
At the reported exchange rate used in the original report, the daily spending amounts to roughly ₦18.4 million, translating to about ₦551 million in a 30-day month.
Adegboyega also spoke about criticism of SPAC Nation, including claims by some people that the organisation operates like a cult.
He attributed some of the criticism to what he described as the unusual financial success and unity among young members of the church.
According to him, unlike what is obtainable in some churches where the pastor is wealthy while members struggle financially, some young people associated with SPAC Nation are also able to afford expensive lifestyles.
He said he no longer gets angry when people describe the organisation as a cult, adding that he believes those making such claims are simply confused.
“I forgive people who call us a cult and all that because they are confused. So I don’t get angry anymore. I am grateful,” he said.
The disclosure has again drawn attention to Adegboyega’s lifestyle, financial commitments and activities through SPAC Nation, particularly its work with young people in the UK.
It has also renewed discussions around wealth, financial transparency and the lifestyle of religious leaders and their members.
