Tragic Midnight Fire Claims Lives in Tudun Wada, Kano State
Residents of Tudun Wada, a community in the Nassarawa Local Government area of Kano State, are grappling with grief following a devastating midnight fire outbreak that claimed multiple lives on Monday. The tragic incident unfolded as a result of an electric spark that occurred during the restoration of power.
According to reports gathered by Diaspora Digital Media, the fire engulfed a family home while its occupants were asleep, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of the father, mother, and five of their children. A resident named Malam Idi Maikatako disclosed the unfortunate event, emphasizing that the sixth child survived but is currently hospitalized.
“The incident happened as a result of an electric spark when power was restored,” Maikatako alleged, shedding light on the calamity that befell the unsuspecting family.
Upon receiving the distress call, the Kano State Fire Service promptly responded to the scene. Saminu Yusif, the spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed the incident. However, he stated that the victims lost their lives due to suffocation from the smoke generated by the fire outbreak.
“We got a distress call in the wee hours of today through one Ibrahim Sani. When our men got to the scene, they discovered it was a residential house that was razed by fire,” Yusif reported.
He continued, “Seven people lost their lives in the incident as they were suffocated by the smoke from the incident. The victims were rushed to the hospital where they were confirmed dead.”

The community is now grappling with the aftermath of the heartbreaking loss, as investigations into the specific causes of the fire are likely to unfold in the coming days.
