The United States President, Donald Trump has announced a new campaign to isolate Iran’s economy, threatening “tremendous economic consequences” on any country that helps or does business with Tehran, a move that could set up a fresh confrontation with China if implemented.

“Today, I am announcing the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Any country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face tremendous economic consequences.”

“No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a greater opportunity to make a Deal than me. TRAGICALLY, for them, they have failed to take it,” added said.

He said the United States would now intensify economic pressure on Iran through what he called an unprecedented campaign of economic warfare and isolation.

According to the US president, Iran’s navy had been rendered ineffective, its air force destroyed and its military factories reduced to rubble, while he claimed the country’s currency was “worthless” and that it was “hanging by a thread.”

Trump described himself as the “ECONOMIC D-DAY” and called on US allies to support Washington’s efforts to isolate and defeat what he described as the Iranian threat.

“You know who you are. This will be an ECONOMIC D-DAY, and we need all of our Allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat,” he said.

He further accused Iran’s leadership of being “maniacal” and warned that the new measures would severely restrict its ability to project terror globally.

“These maniacs are on the ropes, and these HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide. IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” Trump said.

He concluded by thanking the public for its attention to the issue, stressing that the United States would not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.
