US announces new major military operation

The United States has announced a new military operation, Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR, aimed at combating “narco-terrorists” in Latin America.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the mission will defend the homeland, remove narco-terrorists from the hemisphere, and secure the US from drugs.

This announcement comes amid growing concerns that the US naval buildup in Latin American waters could lead to broader strikes and an expanded conflict.

The Trump administration has already been conducting anti-drug operations in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, with US forces striking about 20 vessels in international waters since early September, resulting in at least 76 deaths.

The operation’s scope and details remain unclear, with the Pentagon referring inquiries back to Hegseth’s social media post.

However, reports suggest that senior military commanders have presented President Trump with options for potential actions in Venezuela, including possible land strikes.

Venezuela has responded to the US naval presence with a nationwide military mobilization, fearing the deployments are a covert regime-change effort.

The situation is escalating, with the US deploying an aircraft carrier strike group, F-35 stealth jets, and six Navy ships to the Caribbean
