One of Nigeria’s most successful cadet football coach, Manu Garba, has been seen on a video exclusively obtained by DDM lamenting unfulfilled promises made to him by federal government.

Nigerian government, as far as rewarding sports men and women, have always been long on promises but extremely short in fulfilling them.

The coach, currently based in Abuja, is said to have fallen on hard times and, according to the video, is asking federal government to redeem its promise to him and other coaches that brought glory to the country.

Garba, in 2013 led the country to FIFA Under 17 glory where he won gold.

The tournament led to the discovery of two of Nigeria’s consistent players, Taiwo Awoniyi, Super Eagles’ striker and Nottingham Forest attacker, and Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester FC, both in England.

Iheanacho would be lining up to play for Super Eagles at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cote d’Ivoire.

Garba’s career has so far spanned almost two decades starting from 2017 when he won Gold in FIFA Under 17 with late Coach Yemi Tella.
