When leaders Abandon Their People

As the festive season approaches, the joy of homecoming for Ndi Igbo-Etiti residents is overshadowed by the deplorable state of the #9th_Mile_Enugu_Nsukka Road. This critical artery, essential for economic activities and social reunions, now stands as a symbol of neglect, riddled with potholes, and a nightmare for travelers.

Compounding this challenge is the political deadlock surrounding the alternative route, #Umunko_Agu_Ukehe_Ugwuogo_Nike. Once the shortest and most reliable link to Ndi Igbo-Etiti, this route has been rendered nearly useless, leaving residents and travelers stranded between inefficient options.

With federal intervention on the #9th_Mile_Opi_Nsukka and Express roads seemingly stalled, it falls to our state government to rise to the occasion. A viable solution exists: the construction of a direct road linking Enugu to Ogbede. This would not only ease transportation difficulties but also catalyze economic growth and bring much-needed relief to the community.

We call upon His Excellency, Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose visionary leadership has inspired hope across the state, to take urgent action. With his support and the cooperation of our honorable members of the State Assembly, local government councilors, and other stakeholders, this critical project can become a reality.

The importance of accessible roads cannot be overstated—they are lifelines for commerce, healthcare, education, and social connections. By addressing this pressing issue, our leaders would be demonstrating their commitment to the fundamental rights of Ndi Igbo-Etiti and neighboring communities.

As the Bible assures us in Isaiah 40:4, “Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.” Let us hold our leaders to this vision of fairness and progress, urging them to transform these neglected roads into avenues of opportunity and pride.

This plea is not just a request but a collective cry from the heart of the people. May this message resonate deeply, inspiring prompt action and unity for the betterment of ndi Enugu State.
