Zazzau Emirate Prince dies in auto crash

Prince Umar Shehu Idris, the son of the late Emir of Zazzau in Nigeria, has died in an auto crash along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

Zazzau, also known as the Zaria Emirate, is a traditional state with headquarters in the city of Zaria, Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris, also known as Dan Isan Zazzau, was involved in the accident on Tuesday afternoon, according to information made available to Diaspora Digital Media.

The 41-year-old, who served as the Assistant Secretary to the Zazzau Emirate Council, is survived by two wives and two children.

His death comes just 39 days after the passing of his biological mother, the wife of the late Emir Dr. Shehu Idris, and mother-in-law of the current Emir, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, the Media and Publicity Officer of the emirate, confirmed the tragic news to the newspaper and stated that the burial arrangements would be announced in due time.
