UNIUYO: 7 pioneer College of Education students bag First Class, Provost hails synergy
The Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit, had seven pioneer students graduate with First Class degrees out of 142 students who completed the college’s degree programs.
This was announced by the Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Adamu Maje, represented by Vice Chancellor Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, during the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony for certificates, diplomas, and first degrees.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ndaeyo commended the management and students of the College for their cooperation, which has existed between the University of Uyo and Akwa Ibom State College of Education. He also thanked other affiliate schools for trusting Uniuyo.
In his goodwill message, the Provost applauded Vice Chancellor Ndaeyo for his notable achievements, calling him a source of inspiration for the college. “We are proud to be associated with him,” Prof. Udo added.
Prof. Udo expressed delight that the pioneer graduates from the College were already participating in the National Youth Service Corps, with seven of them earning First Class degrees.
According to available records, 141 graduands participated in the exercise, with the following breakdown, First Class, 7; Second Class Upper, 69; Second Class Lower, 65.
Established in 1991, the College of Education, Afaha Nsit, is the only teachers’ training institution in Akwa Ibom State. It began its degree programs in affiliation with the University of Uyo a few years ago and continues to demonstrate strong commitment to the educational sector through teacher training and manpower development.
