The Nigerian Army has denied recruiting former or repentant insurgents into the organisation.
Army spokesman, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu stated this in a press release issued in Abuja on Thursday.
Nwachukwu said the army’s attention was drawn to a video circulated on social media by one Young Elder and produced by Anthony Jay which related the collapse of the Afghanistan military to the surrender of Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria.
He said Young Elder, in a comic way, expressed worries about the surrendered insurgents.
He, however, assuaged the worries of the viewers of the video footage, saying that no such recruitment is going on.
