Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has won the Globe Soccer Award after Emerging Player of the Year 2022.

The Nigeria international was unable to attend the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony held at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on 17th November 2022 hence a special event was organised at the Napoli training ground instead.

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli was present to help hand over the award to the forward.

The 24-year-old has been in sensational form with leaders Napoli this season, contributing 11 goals and three assists in just 16 appearances between Serie A and the Champions League.

The former Lille of France forward who beat Gavi and Valverde to scoop the prize, revelled in the joy of winning the award with a tweet on his handle: “Just Receive The @Globe_Soccer Award For The Power Horse Emerging Player Of The Year,Thank You For The Recognition, And To Those That Have Been Supporting Me Through The Years,I Appreciate Y’all.GOD Is The Greates.”

Osimhen was purchased from French side LOSC in the summer of 2020 for €75m plus bonuses, a record fee for the Partenopei on the transfer market.

His contract runs to June 2025 and there have already been reports of offers over €100m from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, but Napoli have no intention of selling their star man.
