Security operatives have reportedly arrested an Ogun State lawmaker, one Hon. Damilare Bello Mohammed, who is the alleged mastermind of the cult mayhem in Shagamu, Ogun State, that saw some 25 youths massacred within 48 hours.
Hon. Bello Mohammed, the suspected godfather of cultism was arrested alongside six other cultists in the state by security operatives on Wednesday.
The operatives had tracked the six cultists allegedly involved in the violence that erupted in Sagamu at the weekend to the official residence of Mohammed, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Sagamu State Constituency (1).
He was alleged to have provided shelter to the fleeing cultists who were already under the radar security agencies.
Following the mayhem, residents called on the Ogun State Government and security service agencies to intensify more efforts to deny the cultists and their godfathers freedom to perpetrate their dastardly acts.
