BREAKING: Usyk beats Tyson Fury to retain his heavyweight titles

Published

Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk outpointed Tyson Fury for a second time to retain his heavyweight world titles on Saturday.

Usyk was in control of large swathes of the bout as Fury struggled to make his mark, despite his huge size advantage.

Seven months after his first victory over the Brit, Usyk was given the nod by all three judges who each scored the fight 116-112.

Though, the Ukrainian, 37, who had entered the bout as a narrow favourite, retained his WBO, WBC and WBA heavyweight titles with his win at Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena.

Moreover, British fighter Fury, 36, had hoped to take revenge and become a three-time world heavyweight champion, but the loss leaves his future boxing career in doubt.
