Controversial social media activist, Mr. Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed that over N180 million was stolen from his NGO’s account in a recent hacking incident.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, Otse shared the shocking news that the stolen funds had been transferred to an unidentified account.
“I’ve not been myself these past few days,” Otse said. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”
“The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s N20 million left, while N160 million was diverted. We’re heading to Jos to recover the money.”
Otse also revealed that the NGO’s app had been temporarily taken offline for maintenance to safeguard against further breaches.
He assured his followers that further updates on the recovery process would be provided.
Earlier this year, Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, which quickly raised over ₦35 million in donations.
Shortly thereafter, music producer Don Jazzy, also known as Michael Collins Ajereh, donated ₦100 million to the cause.
