Sanwo-Olu unveils new Infrastructure projects
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will unveil new projects, beginning with the commissioning of Old Ojo Road on Tuesday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu will also inaugurate three additional roads: Irede, Navy Town, and Mumuni Adio Roads in the same area.
The inauguration of these projects is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
This event demonstrates Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to advancing the Transportation Pillar of his THEMES+ Agenda, focusing on road infrastructure.
The newly constructed Irede, Navy Town, Mumuni Adio, and Old Ojo Roads improve connectivity to the Lagos Blue Line Rail along the Lagos Badagry Expressway.
These 10.1-kilometer reconstructed roads link the rail component on Lagos Badagry Expressway to the Inland Waterways terminal, ensuring better access.
Irede Road, stretching 2.20 kilometers, branches off from the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and serves the Irede Jetty for water transport.
Mumuni Adio Road, a vital artery, grants access to essential Tank Farms and Industries in Ijegun Egba, an important petroleum products depot.
Navy Town Road connects Ijegun Imoren Jetty and links Old Ojo Road to Central Bank Estate and the Training School.
Originally built in the early 1960s, Old Ojo Road had a single-carriageway with deteriorating pavement and ineffective drainage.
Recognizing these roads’ strategic economic significance, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat approved their rehabilitation and upgrade.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration demonstrates a commitment to upgrading existing roads and constructing new ones to benefit Lagos residents.
