Nigeria Premier League club declares defender missing

Akwa United Football Club has issued a formal statement declaring defender Samuel Ganda missing after he failed to report to the team’s camp two months after resumption.

According to the club’s management, all efforts to reach Ganda have been unsuccessful, prompting them to declare him Absent Without Leave (AWOL).

Ganda has a one-season playing contract with Akwa United until 2025, and the club has notified the Nigeria Football Federation, Nigeria Premier Football League, and all football clubs to be aware of his status.

The club has warned that any transfer dealings with Ganda would be at the risk of the engaging parties, and Akwa United will hold responsible parties accountable for contractual violations.

“We are compelled to issue this formal notice to all football clubs, football associations, and licensed intermediaries not to have any transfer dealings with the player,” said Mfon Patrick, Media Director of Akwa United Football Club.

The club is seeking assistance from football authorities and the public to locate Ganda’s whereabouts.
