The Kwara State Government has announced that all public and private schools across the state will resume for the third term on Monday, April 20, 2026, following a three-week holiday.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development after consultations with key stakeholders in the education sector.
Speaking at the ministry’s headquarters in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Lawal Olohungbebe, said the resumption date aligns with the approved academic calendar.
He commended teachers and non-teaching staff for their dedication, noting that their efforts have contributed to improved learning outcomes in public schools across the state.
Olohungbebe also highlighted ongoing progress in the sector under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, attributing it to sustained investment, policy consistency, and collaboration among stakeholders.
The commissioner urged continued support for government initiatives while advising students to remain disciplined and focused as they begin the new term.
He emphasized that commitment to studies and good conduct would help position students for success and make them worthy representatives of their families and the state.
