Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The announcement was made on Saturday at the Bauchi Government House, where the governor appeared alongside APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle.
Mohammed’s defection followed a closed-door stakeholders’ meeting and includes members of the PDP aligned with the Tanimu Turaki-led faction.
Until this move, he served as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, making his exit a significant political shift within the opposition party.
Further details on the implications of the defection and potential reactions from both parties are expected as the situation develops.
