Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s corpse arrives Nigeria for burial

The remains of a Nigerian Senator and business tycoon, Ifeanyi Ubah, have arrived Nigeria for burial three months after his death in London, United.

Ubah, until his death was the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly.

He would be buried on Friday, November 22.

Senator Ubah died in London on July 27 at the age of 52.

He would have been 53 on September 3, 2024.

According to the announcement by his family, the burial ceremony will be a solemn moment to celebrate a life dedicated to service, leadership and humanity.

His life and times

Born on September 3, 1971, in Abuja, Nigeria, he was the first son of seven children to Mr. and Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah.

Despite dropping out of school due to financial constraints, he went on to become a successful entrepreneur, founding Capital Oil and Gas Limited in 2001.

He also owned The Authority Newspaper and Ifeanyi Ubah F.C., a football club in the Nigerian Premier League.

Ubah’s venture into politics began with his candidacy in the 2014 Anambra gubernatorial election under the Labour Party, although he lost.

However, he later won the Anambra South Senatorial election in 2019 under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Before his passing, he had declared his intention to run for governor of Anambra State in 2025.

Ubah was married to Uchenna, and they had five children together.

He also founded the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation to support his community.

In 2022, he survived an assassination attempt when his convoy was attacked in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.

Sadly, he passed away on July 27, 2024, at the age of 52, due to cardiac arrest in London.
