The Supreme Court has delivered a ruling on the Rivers State House of Assembly crisis.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, an APC chieftain, condemned the ruling as a “Black Friday” for Nigeria’s democracy.

He described the judgment as a declaration of war against Rivers State and the death of the judiciary.

The Supreme Court ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to halt the release of funds to Rivers State.

The ruling stated that funds would only resume when a properly constituted House of Assembly is in place.

The court further directed Martin Amaewhule and all elected members to resume sitting immediately.

Eze reacted strongly to the decision, calling it a blow to democracy.

He argued that the Supreme Court ignored the fact that Amaewhule’s faction had defected to the APC.

According to him, the lawmakers’ defection carried severe constitutional consequences.

Eze insisted that allowing them to continue sitting was unconstitutional and undemocratic.

He called on Nigerians to resist what he described as an attack on democracy.

“For the Supreme Court to ignore these facts is unfortunate,” Eze said.

He described the ruling as wicked, evil, sad, and a declaration of war against Rivers State.

He further asserted that the ruling was not just against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to Eze, the decision was a broader threat to Nigeria’s democracy.

He urged Nigerians to rise and defend democracy against forces trying to undermine it.

Eze also criticized the Supreme Court for halting Rivers State’s federal allocations.

He claimed that the ruling was a plot to serve former Governor Nyesom Wike’s interests.

“For the Supreme Court to stop Rivers’ funds exposes a bigger political agenda,” he stated.

He alleged that the move was meant to weaken Rivers State economically.

Eze accused Wike of plotting to control the state’s resources.

He claimed that the former governor wanted to destabilize the state for personal gain.

He predicted that the coming days would reveal more about the plot against Fubara.

“The next few days will be very interesting,” he said.

He suggested that efforts to remove Governor Fubara were part of a larger scheme.

“No matter what happens, Fubara has fought a good fight,” Eze stated.

He commended the governor for exposing the alleged plan to control state finances.

Meanwhile, Wike reacted by accusing Governor Fubara of committing an impeachable offense.

The former Rivers State Governor insisted that Fubara had violated constitutional procedures.

“It is unheard of for three lawmakers to control an entire state assembly,” Wike said.

He claimed that the Supreme Court had restored order and ended impunity in Rivers State.

Despite the ruling, the Coalition of Opposition Lawmakers expressed support for Fubara.

They assured that governance in Rivers State would continue without disruption.

A spokesperson for the coalition stated that Fubara remained in control.

“The Supreme Court has spoken, but governance will not stop,” the spokesperson said.

He maintained that the executive arm of government remained functional.

He reassured the people that development projects would continue.

The political tension in Rivers State has been ongoing for months.

The battle for control between Fubara and Wike has intensified.

Observers believe that the Supreme Court ruling will escalate the crisis.

The decision could have far-reaching implications beyond Rivers State.

Legal analysts have shared differing opinions on the matter.

Some believe the Supreme Court was right to recognize Amaewhule’s leadership.

Others argue that the ruling sets a dangerous precedent for legislative legitimacy.

A constitutional lawyer, Barrister Obinna Okoro, weighed in on the issue.

“The Supreme Court ruling reaffirms the importance of legislative integrity,” Okoro said.

He noted that lawmakers who defect without justification should lose their seats.

However, he acknowledged that political interference often affects judicial decisions.

Political analysts predict that this ruling could influence other states.

The verdict could embolden similar power struggles elsewhere in Nigeria.

The Supreme Court’s role in resolving political disputes has been highlighted once again.

Many question whether the decision will bring stability or worsen the crisis.

Governor Fubara’s supporters are expected to challenge the ruling through legal means.

They may also explore political strategies to counter its effects.

On the other hand, Wike’s allies will push to consolidate their newfound advantage.

The Supreme Court ruling has intensified political battles in Rivers State.

Many citizens remain divided over its implications.

Some view it as a step toward restoring order in governance.

Others see it as an attempt to suppress the will of the people.

The Supreme Court’s verdict will continue to shape political developments in the state.

The coming days will determine the future of governance in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara faces significant challenges following the Supreme Court’s ruling.

For now, political tensions remain high, with both camps preparing their next moves.
