Benue State governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed grave concerns over the persistent insecurity plaguing the state.

He accused some influential politicians based in Abuja and members of the National Assembly of being complicit in the violence, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.

During a televised interview, Governor Alia alleged certain political figures are encouraging unrest and enabling attacks in Benue.

He described the situation in the state as deeply alarming and criticized selfish ambitions of high-ranking individuals.

These leaders, instead of focusing on citizens’ safety, are preoccupied with securing their political futures, he said.

Alia stated his loyalty lies with the people of Benue, and he will protect their lives and property.

“The lives of our people are in danger, yet some leaders focus on personal ambitions,” Alia said.

“That is unacceptable. If they do not value the people’s lives, I serve the interest of the masses.”

He added, “It is my concern and my right to protect the people of Benue State.”

Governor Alia reiterated his commitment to restoring peace and stability in the state.

He insisted political interference will not stop his efforts to protect the citizens.

He emphasized that politicians’ involvement worsens suffering and hinders peace efforts in the region.

To address the root causes, a judicial panel of inquiry was set up to investigate the attacks.

While not naming names, Alia revealed the panel’s preliminary findings implicate several prominent individuals.

He assured decisive government action will follow after the final report is received.

“No one found guilty will be spared,” he declared, stressing that justice will be pursued regardless of status.

“The findings already point to high-profile individuals; we await the full report before acting,” he added.

The security crisis has caused displacement and loss of many lives in Benue communities.

Repeated attacks by unidentified groups have left families living in constant fear and uncertainty.

Governor Alia acknowledged the hardship endured by residents and pledged to restore peace.

He criticized leaders who ignore the people’s plight and fail to act against violence.

Alia argued that leaders should unite to end the violence and promote development.

He said worsening the crisis for political gain is unacceptable and irresponsible.

The governor’s remarks have sparked debate on the political dimensions of the Benue conflict.

Citizens are calling for transparency, accountability, and justice in the ongoing crisis.

Many residents pin hopes on the judicial panel’s investigation to expose the true culprits.

Governor Alia assured his administration’s commitment to the safety and welfare of the people.

He vowed his government would continue seeking the truth and hold perpetrators accountable.

“The time for hiding behind power is over,” Alia said firmly.

“We will not allow political interests to override the lives and safety of our people.”

His strong stance has been welcomed by many concerned citizens of Benue State.

The people of Benue continue to seek concrete action amid rising insecurity and displacement.
