Ihekweme Donates N5 Million to Support Imo NUJ Workstation

A former Commissioner in Imo state, Dr Fabian Ihekweme has donated the sum of N500,000.00 to support the workstation project embarked upon by the Nwadike – led Imo state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.

Recall that Dr Fabian Ihekweme has been in the forefront of advocacy for transparency , accountability and good governance, which has also earned him applause from Nigerians and Imolites in particular.

Imo NUJ recently launched its workstation project designed to facilitate and enhance the activities of media practitioners as well as journalism practice in the state.

The workstation is also expected to generate income for the union as well as serve as facility for IT training among others.

Reacting, the NUJ Chairman, Nwadike lauded the donor and urged other well meaning Nigerians to also support Imo NUJ to give professionalism to their members.

He made it clear that the ex-commissioner’s donation is highly appreciated and would help development of Journalists in the state.

The essence of the workstation was to enhance the skills of journalists in the state and improve the quality of reporting.

Chief Ihekweme’s donation is expected to go a long way in supporting the workstation and provide journalists with the necessary tools and resources to excel in their profession.
