The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC), Enugu North Senatorial Zone, has announced plans to host a significant general meeting this Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the event will feature a grand reception in honour of the National President of the OYC, IgboAyaka O IgboAyaka, as well as activities tied to the forthcoming Enugu State Convention of the organization.
The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a foremost socio-cultural body representing the interests of Igbo people worldwide, has been instrumental in mobilizing young people across the South-East and beyond for advocacy, leadership training, and cultural preservation.
According to a formal notice released by the Acting Chairman of the zone, Comrade Mbah Romeo C, the meeting will take place at the former palace of Eze Igwe Abangwu, located at Nowor Junction, Eha Alumona.
The event is scheduled to begin promptly at 2 p.m.
Top on the agenda for the day is the official welcoming of the National President, IgboAyaka O IgboAyaka, whose leadership has been marked by vocal advocacy for the rights and recognition of Igbo youth.
The meeting will also lay the groundwork for the Enugu State Convention of the Council, expected to unite youth leaders and stakeholders from across the region.
Hon. David C. Ani, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Enugu State chapter of the Council, is also expected to attend and play a coordinating role during the meeting.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has in recent times played a more prominent role in community affairs, often bridging the gap between traditional leadership, political engagement, and grassroots mobilization.
The meeting promises to be a pivotal one for the youth wing, as discussions are expected to shape future programs and strategies aimed at empowering the Igbo youth demography.
The invitation is open to new members, all members and stakeholders within the Enugu North Senatorial District.
