The EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged NYSC members to spearhead Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts.
Speaking through representatives at various orientation camps, he emphasized that youths must protect the nation’s future by rejecting fraud.
Additionally, he highlighted their unique position to drive change during their service year.
During a lecture in Rivers State, EFCC official Otagada Sunday Ogar relayed Olukoyede’s message titled “The Role of Corps Members in the Anti-Corruption Fight.”
The Chairman warned that corruption destroys opportunities, barring convicts from leadership and global engagements.
Consequently, he advised youths to avoid internet fraud and other crimes.
Olukoyede further encouraged corps members to educate communities on corruption’s dangers.
“Use your service year to mobilize action against financial crimes,” he stated.
Moreover, he stressed that public enlightenment fosters a culture of accountability.
Therefore, every corps member should become an anti-corruption advocate.
In Bayelsa State, EFCC’s Cynthia Okoye urged whistleblowing via the Eagle Eye App.
“Report fraudsters instead of ignoring them,” she insisted.
Similarly, in Kwara State, Superintendent Gbenga Adewoye urged vigilance, saying, “When you see something, say something.”
These calls reinforce the need for proactive youth involvement.
Olukoyede described the NYSC year as a chance to become change agents.
He also warned against internet fraud, stating it stifles national progress.
“Pursue legitimate opportunities instead,” he advised.
Likewise, in Enugu State, EFCC’s Adaora Oragudosi warned against aiding corruption.
She emphasized that reporting fraud secures Nigeria’s future.
In Edo State, EFCC’s Williams Oseghale reiterated that youths suffer most from corruption.
“Do not be spectators—fight fraud actively,” he urged.
Furthermore, Olukoyede called on corps members to use their service year for national development.
“Your actions today shape tomorrow,” he declared.
